Come to CAMP and explore your creative side with this entertaining no-pressure introduction to art. You'll learn simple techniques to drawing, have fun with paint, and produce mixed media art using paper, wire and clay. Instructor: Kathleen Fox

Come learn how to paint using acrylic or advanced your current skills with this hybrid studio for beginning and intermediate painters. Instructor Beth Melton-Seabrook leads this six-week easy-going painting techniques class. Students learn and apply color theory, placement, design, and perspective as they create original art work and build their skills as painters. For beginners or intermediate students looking to start with a refresher class or carve time to paint better.

Local painter Carl Turner leads this on-going monthly class. Whether you paint in acrylic or oil, this class is great for beginners as well as experienced painters who want to take their skills to the next level. Carl will address process, drawing, composition, brushwork and working with color. Students work on independent projects of their choice. A supply list will be email to students prior to class. Master Artist Rob Maniscalco leads our easy-going adult drawing studio where students learn to enhance their basic drawing skills or step-up to more advanced skills. Each week, Rob demonstrates different drawing techniques on various levels then students apply those techniques to their artwork with guidance from the instructor. A focus on portrait/faces and fluid drawing is this series theme. Students are also welcomed to bring in drawing projects to work on independently with feedback from Rob.

ACRYLICS STUDIO with Beth Melton Seabrook

This acrylic studio is a more advanced workshop to Beth Melton-Seabrook’s popular beginning acrylics class. Students put their painting skills to practice. Students work on independent projects with Beth’s guidance. It’s an easy-going learning environment filled with fun and friends. All materials are provided, but students are welcomed to bring any supplies they prefer to use. Come with an image you’d like to paint or a work-in-progress. Expect laughter along with your creativity.

Put down the phones and turn off the TV. Grab your family and get out of the summer heat! Family Art Challenges are back! Host and CAMP owner Kathleen Fox keeps your art challenge top secret until the time clock starts, then families must work together to create non traditional art that meets the evening’s challenge. Expect laughter, creativity and a whole lotta’ high-fives. It’s the perfect date for the whole family!

*Note: We love family participation, however the art challenges for these evenings are best suited for kids 7 years and old. Not ideal for toddlers or preschoolers.

Caroline’s Water Coloring Class

Caroline’s Water Coloring Class

Come create simple and beautiful watercolor images. Coined "minis" because of their 4"x 4"  size, students will learn easy techniques to make several original pieces that can be made into gorgeous frame-able art.  Instructor: Caroline Davila. New writers may join the critique group at any point in the series if spots are available.

Do you have a story for the children's book market? Want feedback from other writers in the industry to help determine if your work is ready? Join local children's book writers for critiques, industry discussions, and inspiration. This on-going critique group is for picture book, middle grade, and young adult authors who are seriously seeking publication. Participants should have full PB manuscripts or W-I-P MG or YA manuscripts. Not ideal for new writers.  Critique Host: Kathleen Fox
