Our guest artists are knowledgeable and inspiring. They'll spend the day, weekend, or month sharing their expertise with you in a fun and nurturing learning space.



Please Note: CAMP's current 6-week classes run from the week of February 26th  through the week of April 9th. CAMP will be closed for Spring break April 2nd-6th for all daytime, after-school and evening classes.

Artist Beth Williams will guide students in this six-week watercolor and drawing course . All your supplies are supplied - no need to buy anything, we have it all for you. So come spend Tuesdays learning something new, and making beautiful art.  Note: Intermediate students are welcome to join in. Everyone works at their own level of experience. Beth will guide with individual projects as well.

This class is getting rave reviews! Come learn how to draw. Instructor Anne Weld guides beginner students in this easy-going class to build skill and confidence. You'll explore charcoal, pencil, and ink while gaining a greater sense of space, line, texture, value, proportion, and contrast. If you've ever wanted to learn how to draw, this is the class for you. Instructor: Anne Weld is a local artist and educator. She has over 20 years of experience teaching art.

Come play. Yes, play! Each week, your instructor Twoie Palmer will guide you through unique art activities. From collage to painting. Paper arts to drawing. It's a wonderful way to learn new art skills, meet like-minded friends, and have some create art on a weekly basis. Come learn how you take a bunch of ordinary grocery store flowers and create extraordinary arrangements for dinner parties, guests, special occasions, and events. Instructor Anne Isom leads you through how to pick the best bunch in the bin, to how to cut, arrange, and display to make the most of what you have. You'll way away with all the tricks of the trade. Did me mention the arrangement you make, you take home to enjoy! No floral experience necessary.

Come create simple and beautiful watercolor images. Coined "minis" because of their 4"x 4"  size, students will learn easy techniques to make several original pieces that can be made into gorgeous frame-able art, given as holiday gifts, or produced into one-of-a kind cards.  Instructor: Caroline Davila. Class size is limited to only 6 students. All supplies and materials are included.

We're fond of saying at CAMP - you must know the rules, before you can break them. Most art relies on drawing principles so come spend Monday evenings with instructor, Kristen Solecki, and fine-tune your drawing skills. An array of techniques and tools are provided to help you develop or enhance your artistic style. This group works on independent projects with the guidance of the instructor. Students work at their own level of expertise. All supplies provided. Instructor: Kristen Solecki is a local illustrator and print maker. She teaches at CAMP, The Gibbes and West Elm.

Do you have a story for the children's book market? Want feedback from other writers in the industry to help determine if your work is ready? Join local children's book writers for critiques, industry discussions, and inspiration. This critique group is for picture book, middle grade, and young adult authors who are seriously seeking publication. Participants should have full PB manuscripts or W-I-P MG or YA manuscripts. Author Nadine Johnson leads an in-depth workshop for participants interested learning more about self-publishing. This 3-hour workshop offers a detailed overview of the publishing industry; provides tips on how to start writing a manuscript; and explains how to properly format a book. Each participant will also learn printing terms and specifications, and how to avoid the many pitfalls of self-publishing. Attendees will gain the knowledge needed to publish their own high-quality book.


Bonus: The first five participants to sign up will receive a free critique of their picture book manuscript or the first 5 pages of their novel. Nadine Johnson is the author of BING VS. THE J-CREW, I AM, and The Last Night I Dreamt series

The Writing Circle (ADULTS)

The Writing Circle is a group of writers who critique, support and inspire each other. Participants are encouraged to bring writing they are currently working on to get feedback from the group. Writing exercises, prompts and sharing. All genres welcomed. This group is for experienced writers seeking publication. Instructor: Kathleen Fox
