Artist and Jewelry Maker Karen Hakim-Butt leads this entertaining intensive workshop where students will learn to make beautiful jewelry from metal clay. Each piece is created by the student. Portrait Artist Rob Maniscalco leads this adult drawing studio. Students learn new drawing techniques to advanced their skill levels and confidence in drawing. A focus on faces and objects. Come to CAMP and explore your creative side with this entertaining no-pressure introduction to art (or come to simply step-up your creative process). This follow-up acrylic studio to Beth Melton-Seabrook’s popular beginning acrylics class offers students the chance to put their new painting skills to practice. Students work on independent projects with Beth’s guidance. It’s an easy-going learning environment filled with fun and friends. All supplies are provided, but students are welcomed to bring in any materials they’d prefer to use.

In this entertaining mini-four week course, adults learn the VERY basics of drawing. We focus on line, shape and value. We explore simple art materials (types of paper, pencils, erasers). There’s lots of practice time and no art experience needed. If you ever wanted to learn how to draw, this mini-class is the perfect way to start on your path. Students will work in pencil, ink and charcoal. This class is for the student who has never drawn. (Kathleen’s note: if you’ve taken a drawing class this will most likely be too easy for you.) Whether you paint in acrylic or oil, this class is great for beginners as well as experienced painters who want to take it to the next level. Carl will address process, drawing, composition, brushwork, and working with color. It's a fun and focused class with an experienced teacher. Students work on independent projects of their choice. In this 6-week intensive, students focus on the techniques required to create a realistic portrait. Students will apply and practice skills to improve and enhance their artwork. Lead by local portrait artist Rob Maniscalco. 3 weeks are dedicated to drawing portraits and the other three weeks to painting them. Students taking this workshop should have a basic knowledge of drawing and painting. See the supply list.

Come create simple and beautiful watercolor images. Coined "minis" because of their 4"x 4"  size, students will learn easy techniques to make several original pieces that can be made into gorgeous frame-able art.  Instructor: Caroline Davila. This on-going critique group is for picture book, middle grade, and young adult authors who are seriously seeking publication.
